Description

Often associated with the Tree of Life, the Celtic Cross predates Christianity, the oldest example from 10,000 BC. The first cross symbols possibly represented the sun. In the megalithic age and in to the Celts, the sun was considered to be the divine center of the cosmos, the "light of the world". The circle represents the whole, the encircling spirit, the sun illuminating - an all-embracing essence of light. In the Celtic Cross, the center is the spiritual source - here represented by a triskele motif symbolizing the mystical Celtic Trinity. The ancient Wheel-Armed Cross reflects the cosmic wheel, representing the four seasonal positions of the sun - cosmic order - the four directions, elements, four seasons. Birds, symbols of freedom and transcendence, are sacred messengers of the Celtic Otherworld, connecting the heavens (air) and the Earth (Tree of Life).

An original design by Welsh artist Jen Delyth. Finely Silkscreened - Full Color- Adhesive - Double Sided Stickers. Because they are double sided stickers, you can stick them to either the inside or outside of a CLEAR pane of glass and they can be seen on both sides equally well.
