Help! I haven't received any emails regarding my order!  by  WiccanWay.com
Once your order has been accepted in our store and you've reached the final web page in the ordering process where an order number is assigned and displayed onscreen, an email is immediately generated to the email address you supplied during the ordering process. If you printed out that web page where the order number was displayed, please check to see if the email address shown is correct.

If the email address IS correct but you still haven't received your order confirmation email, please check the "Spam" or "Junk" email folders for your email program. It's very possible that your email provider didn't recognize our email as a valid email and incorrectly labeled our email as spam or junk and put it in that folder. Look for an email dated the same date as you placed your order, with a time stamp right around the same time too. You might want to also indicate in your email program that our emails are not Junk or Spam by adding support@wiccanway.com to your accepted email address "whitelist" so that you don't have any problems receiving emails from us in the future.

If the email address IS NOT correct, please go to our Customer Service Request Form, fill out the form with your CORRECT email address and let us know we need to update the email address for your order. Please be sure to give us your order number if you have it available, along with your name, address and the date of your order. Having that information will make it much easier to locate your order and make the appropriate change to the email address.

If you are sure we have your correct email address and you've checked and our email is not in your Junk or Spam email folders, please fill out a Customer Service Request Form and let us know you need another copy of your email sent to you. We can easily send another one your way. You can also log into your Wiccan Way account and print a copy of your order invoice from there.

Help! Why does my credit card/bank account appear to have several charges for one order?  by  WiccanWay.com
Let us try to explain what you're seeing on your bank account regarding your order attempts...

Because we have an online store which does real time authorizations with Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Discover for all orders, when you fill out your order information (billing information, credit card information, expiration date and CVV code, etc), the credit/debit card companies check to see if everything is filled out correctly and matches what they have on file for you. When you hit the final submit button on your order, the store software communicates with your credit card company and the authentication of your credit card information takes place.

At that same time, your credit/debit card company places the amount of the attempted order in "pending/reserve" so that they can prevent you from using your card past your credit limit/bank balance. The total of the attempted order is "pending/reserved" out of your balance, but not actually charged until the order is successfully placed and we submit the charge for the order, usually the next day. Normally, if you look at your credit/debit card account, you'll see that amount of the "pending/reserve" is reflected in the overall balance, but no actual line item transaction from Dsaria International LLC appears on your account. That's how you can tell it's a reserved amount vs. an actual charge. The reserves usually last 3-5 business days if a charge is not made against them, then the reserved amounts will be automatically released back to you so you can use it again. This is pretty much standard operating procedure with all credit card and debit card purchases nowadays.

However, there's a catch to this supposedly great system provided by the credit/debit card companies. IF you have not accurately filled out all the credit/debit card authentication information and the system comes back with an denial or error after you have clicked that final submit button, for some unknown reason, the credit card company still places the order total in "pending/reserve" even though you have not successfully submitted your order. Then you make your corrections for the error you received and you click the final submit button again. Then, once again, it goes through the entire process of validating the credit/debit card information and puts the order total in "pending/reserve" AGAIN. This continues to happen each time you attempt to submit your order with mismatched information until such time as you successfully place your order.

This is what happened to you and why it appears you have been charged multiple times, when, in fact, we actually only charge once per successfully placed order. You've got a multiple "pending/reserve" on your credit/debit card for the order total applied to your account by the card company due to your previously declined attempts, but there's not an actual line item transaction on your account which shows the charge has been put through.

One thing you can try to do is contact your debit card company about the extra money that has been reserved due to the declined attempts to see if they'll release it for you. Sometimes they will, and sometimes they won't, but it might be worth a call to the phone number listed on the back of your credit/debit card to see if they can help you with the problem.

However, one reserved amount on your credit/debit card has to stay applied against your account if you were able to successfully place your order. That's what tells the bank/credit card company you'll have the money available once we put through the charge when your order has shipped out. If they didn't reserve the money in this way, you could overcharge your card similar to how people used to write hot checks, and use it when they don't have enough of a balance to cover their purchases. This way, the credit/debit card company makes sure you have enough money available in your account balance to cover your purchases by reserving the money you have attempted to spend as you go along.

I hope this explanation relieves your concerns about us overcharging you for your order. We will only submit ONE charge for your order. The remaining "pending/reserved" amounts against your credit/debit card were done by your credit/debit card company for each failed attempt you made, and unfortunately we have absolutely no control over the their "pending/reserving" funds process.

How To Burn Cone Incense  by  WiccanWay.com
  • Take the cone and set it in a heatproof container, such as an incense censer or an ashtray, with the point facing up. (Try to avoid a glass container, as the bottom of the cone can get pretty hot.)

  • Light the narrowest end of the cone incense with a match, or candle. Let the fire burn for about 10 seconds, then blow it, or fan it, until the flame goes out. The end of the cone should still be lit, but with no fire on the top.

  • The cone should begin to smolder, letting out a fragrant smoke. The cone must smolder, NOT flame, or you will only get a charcoal/fire type of fragrance. This is the main reason people complain that the incense smells bad, or only burns for 3 minutes. The fire MUST be out! If you let your cone incense smolder properly, your cone will probably burn for an average of 20-30 minutes.

  • Known Issues For Cones - If your cone incense goes out, it is usually because there is not enough oxygen to keep it burning. If your cones are not getting enough air and the incense burner has a lid, try removing that lid to give your cone more oxygen. This is especially true, if you live in a cooler climate and it is wintertime, some cones will go out, if burned in covered containers during this time. Also, the cone's ability to burn may also depend on how much moisture the cones have been exposed to. Sometimes really fresh incense still has oil residue in the cones. If that's the case, you may need to dry them out a bit before using. And don't forget to store your incense in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight when you're not using them.

How To Burn Powder Incense (''Powerful Indian'' brand)  by  WiccanWay.com
These instructions refer to the ''Powerful Indian'' brand of powder incense we sell here in our store which comes in a small 1 3/4 ounce can:

It's very simple to use the ''Powerful Indian'' brand of powder incense because it's a ''self lighting'' incense. Just put a few small pinch-fulls of powder into a brass Incense burner (which is placed on a trivet or something else that's heat resistant) or into an ashtray. Then put a lit flame onto the powder until it catches fire. Then VERY GENTLY blow out the flame so that the incense is just smoldering. Let it burn until it goes out on it's own.

That's all there is to it! Enjoy your incense and be sure to use caution any time you're burning incense.

How To Burn Resin/Granule Incense  by  WiccanWay.com
What You Need to Burn Resin or Granular Incense
  • An incense censer or cast iron cauldron. Use something that can withstand extremely high temperatures. You can use a plain metal or porcelain bowl but make sure you set it on a fireproof surface - like a trivet. Pack your incense burning container with sand. You will end up placing your lit charcoal tablet on the top of the sand.
  • Charcoal tablets. You can find Charcoal Tablets here at the Wiccan Way.
  • A feather (or a small piece of cardboard) to lightly fan the burning incense.
  • Sand. Itís important to place the sand in the censer for insulation Ė the charcoal blocks get very hot!
  • A pair of tweezers, needle-nose pliers or metal cooking tongs for lighting the charcoal tablets.
  • A mortar and pestle to grind up the incense resin or granules.
  • The incense resin or granules you want to burn.
How To Burn Your Incense
  • Select incense and (if necessary) grind it up in the mortar and pestle.
  • Place the sand in the censer Ė fill to at lease three quarters of the bowl.
  • Light candle and place in a candle holder so you can use it "hands free".
  • Hold a charcoal tablet (with the tweezers, pliers or metal tongs) over the candle and light one end. It may take a minute or two to light before it sizzles and glows. When it stops sizzling, place it (with the slightly indented side facing up) in the sand in the middle of the censer.
  • Place a small amount of your selected incense or mix on the charcoal tablet. Waft gently with the feather or piece of cardboard.
  • The charcoal tablet will last for around 2 hours, so continue placing small amounts of your chosen incense on it when needed. Enjoy!
  • Fully extinguish your charcoal tablet when completed. Use your tweezers, pliers or metal tongs to extract the tablet from the censer and submerse it in water.
Please remember, do not burn incense near any flammable objects, and never place lit incense or charcoal within the reach of children! Stay safe and practice smart incense burning techniques.

How To Care For Your Altar Broom  by  WiccanWay.com
  • Keep it hung using the strap. This will prevent excess curving of the broom.
  • Swish your broom in cool, clear water to clean and freshen. Do not use soaps or harsh cleaners as these will make your broom brittle.
  • Use your broom! This gives your broom a purpose and it will pick up oils from the floor to help keep it flexible.
  • If the broom is only used occasionally, mist it with a light coat of household lemon oil every few months to help maintain flexibility.

How To Care For Your Silver Products  by  WiccanWay.com
The biggest challenge with Silver is TARNISH. When you own silver jewelry and other silver products... you know all about tarnish. Here are a few tips for you to keep your sterling silver items bright and shiny:

STORAGE
Since silver tarnishes when exposed to air, store your silver items in airtight bags whenever possible. Using individual bags for each piece will help keep the items from scratching. With proper care, your sterling silver items will last for generations.

Harsh chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, chlorine, sulfur, fingernail polish remover, etc (even just the fumes!) can harm the silver and gemstone surfaces. Always remove sterling silver jewelry when working with chemicals.

CLEANING
A polishing cloth (available for purchase from The Wiccan Way) is the best way to remove tarnish from your silver items. You can also use very mild soap and warm water to clean silver items. REMEMBER to close the sink drain first!! Use lots of warm water to completely remove all soap. Pat item dry using a soft cloth. Do not use paper towels or tissue to dry or polish your items because their fibers can scratch the finely polished surface of your sterling silver. Again, a specially made polishing cloth is the best way to polish your silver pieces.

For excessive tarnish, use a non-abrasive name brand silver cleaner following the manufacturer's cleaning instructions. Remember to close the drain, rinse off all the cleaner with warm water and pat your item dry with a soft cloth.

A COUPLE OF EXTRA NOTES
Know that silver can tarnish rapidly when exposed to the sun and salt air. So if you wear your jewelry to the beach or on a boat, it will tarnish. Use a polishing cloth to give it a quick wipe before you put it away in its protective plastic airtight bag.

If you are considering a silver dip, rethink that idea if your item has a stone set in it. Some stones cannot be dipped, soft stones like turquoise, lapis, malachite, amber, and pearls are but a few that will be harmed from a silver dip. There's no problem with amethyst, garnet, onyx, moonstone, iolite, tourmaline and many others. If your stone is not listed here, check with your local jeweler.

How To Charge An Amulet Or Talisman  by  WiccanWay.com
There are numerous ways you can charge your amulets or talismans. Here's one example you may find helpful:

Right after a new moon (waxing) is the best time to charge your talismans. Charge your talisman at your altar.

Sprinkle the item with salt and say "I consecrate you with the element of the Earth".

Then pass the item through the smoke of a purifying incense, such as sage, and say "I consecrate you with the element of Air".

Then quickly pass the item through a candle flame and say "I consecrate you with the element of Fire".

Then sprinkle the item with purified water or Holy Water and say "I consecrate you with the element of Water".

Then lay the item down on your altar and say, "I charge this item in the name of the Goddess. I charge this item by the virtues of the Sun, Moon, and Stars. I charge this item by the Elemental powers of the Earth, Air, Fire and Water. I now declare this item all-empowered with the energies of the Universe in which I have invoked. You are now charged! So mote it be!"

How To Use An Oil Diffuser  by  WiccanWay.com
Using an Oil Diffuser is a quick and easy procedure...
  • Just fill the bowl of the diffuser with water, then add a FEW DROPS of scented Wiccan Way Aroma Oil to the water. Or another method is to use wax in the bowl with the oils instead of water. If you break up one Tea Light Candle (removing the wick assembly and the tin cup) and put that in the bowl with the oils, you still have a wonderful scent, but as an added bonus, once it's cooled, you can remove it easily from the bowl when you are done!

  • If you have a traditional, candle lit oil diffuser, heat the water/oil mixture in the bowl using the flame from a Tea Light Candle.

  • If you have an Electric Oil Diffuser, heat the water/oil mixture by turning on the warming element which is accomplished by rotating the switch found on the power cord.

  • Be sure to frequently check the water level in the diffuser bowl so that it does not evaporate completely and start to burn the bowl. A heated, empty bowl will crack and become unusable.

  • And don't forget to blow out the flame or turn off your diffuser once you're finished using it!

Please remember, do not use oil diffusers near any flammable objects, and never place lit candles or electric diffusers within the reach of children! Stay safe and practice smart oil diffusing techniques.

How To Use Bath Salts In Your Ritual Bath  by  WiccanWay.com
Because our Wiccan Way Bath Salts contain actual herbs, here's the best way to use them in your bath water so you don't clog your drain when the water empties out:

1. Use a small cloth bag and put approximately 1/2 cup of Wiccan Way Bath Salts into the bag. Cinch up the top of the bag using the attached cord to prevent the bath salts from spilling out.

2. Run your bath water into the tub at the temperature you prefer.

3. Drop the small cloth bag (which now holds the bath salts) into your bath water and swish it around in the water so the salts dissolve and the herb have a good opportunity to infuse their properties into the water.

4. Get into the tub of water and as you soak, focus your thoughts on the results you hope to achieve with your ritual bath.

5. When you're finished, be sure to rinse the salt water off your body with fresh, clear water.

How To Use Black Salt  by  WiccanWay.com
Use Black Salt to keep away bad neighbors or other troublesome people in your life. Sprinkle Black Salt on the doorstep of your neighbor's house, in the workspace of a co-worker, or even on the doorstep of your own home to keep away an ex-lover.

If a person walks on or over the Black Salt, they will become dissatisfied with their place of living/working and will have the desire to move away. So it should be sprinkled in an area where the undesirable person will step on it or walk over it. Caution should be used when placing on the doorstep of your own home. You will not want to walk over the Black Salt yourself, so be sure to use another entrance to your home if you are trying to use it to keep someone away from your home.

How To Use Herbal Spell Mixes  by  WiccanWay.com
The Herbal Spell mixes are most commonly used in the following ways:

1. Ritual Baths - Add some to your bath water by putting some in a small cloth bag and then soaking the bag in the bath water, or by adding the herbs directly into the bath water.

2. Sachet Bags or Dream Pillows - Add some of the herbs to a small bag and put under your pillow while you sleep. Can also be used as a sachet bag since many of these herb mixes are quite aromatic!

3. Spell/Ritual/Mojo Bags - Use the herbs as a component of spell or mojo bags.

4. Burn in the same manner as resin incense with a charcoal tablet and the proper incense censer.

5. Potpourri - As previously mentioned, many of these mixes are extremely aromatic and would make great potpourri bowls for bathrooms or other areas around your home. Just add the dry mix to a small bowl and place the bowl in a room or closet for a subtle fragrance.

How To Use Letter Sealing Wax  by  WiccanWay.com
Making Wax Seals

WARNING: Molten sealing wax is flammable and will stick to the skin causing a severe burn. Use CAUTION when melting and pouring the wax and keep young children away.

Please do not send sealed letters through the mail. The U.S. Post Office uses elaborate automatic sorting machines that will eat your seal. If you wish to mail a sealed letter, place it inside a padded mailing envelope. This will insure the survival of your seal and the U.S. Post Offices machines.

It is a good idea to practice the following procedures a couple of times on scrap paper before sealing anything important.
  • Melting the wax

There are several methods of melting sealing wax: matches, torch lighter, regular lighter, alcohol lamp, spoon-over-candle-flame, spoon-with-melting pot, etc. We prefer to melt sealing wax directly from the stick using either a torch lighter or a common match. Hold the stick in one hand (your more dexterous hand), and the torch lighter or match in your other hand. If using a torch lighter, aim the flame at the end of the stick, right over the area of your paper where you want the wax to drip. If using a match, hold the match under the end of the stick, and as the stick gets hot, the wax will drip down, through the flame, onto the paper.

  • Stirring and shaping the puddle (very important!)

Once you have melted a tiny puddle of sealing wax, somewhere between the size of a dime or a quarter depending on the size of the seal you are going to impress upon the wax, you then begin to shape the puddle of wax into the shape of your seal (round, square, oval, rectangular), using the stick of wax as the stir tool. Stirring brings any air bubbles to the surface. Stirring also allows you to feel when the wax begins to stiffen a bit. After doing several seal impressions, you will develop an ability to sense when the wax is at the perfect temperature to take the sharpest, most detailed impression possible.

  • Creating a moisture barrier

If using J. Herbinís traditional formula sealing wax, a moisture barrier MUST be created on the face of the seal before impressing it into the wax, no matter what material the seal is made of. There are several easy methods of creating a moisture barrier on the face of a seal:

    • The simplest is simply to breathe on the seal just as you might breathe on your glasses if you were going to clean them. This is amazingly effective, and it's our own preferred method.
    • Lick the face of the seal. Also simple, and it works.
    • You can brush a bit of oil on the face of the seal. Use oil very sparingly. Itís easy to use too much, and this will cause a disappointing loss of detail in the impression.
    • The ice cube method is favored by glue-gun users. Place the seal face-down on an ice cube in between impressions. This causes condensation, especially if the seal is warm from the previous impression.

  • Impressing the seal, when and how

The sealing waxes we sell are purpose-designed to take crisp, razor sharp and accurate impressions from the most intricately designed and finely detailed seals ever engraved. Some technique is required to achieve perfect impressions. This can be learned with a bit of practice. How can you tell if youíve impressed too soon? The wax seal will be shiny. The sharpest impression will have occurred when the wax seal appears to have a matte surface as opposed to a shiny surface. Practice and experience will soon lead to instinct as to just how long to allow the melted wax to cool before impressing the seal into the wax. Once youíve firmly placed the seal into the puddle of wax, hold it still for about 5 seconds, and then slowly peel the seal away from the wax.

  • Be careful

This whole process is ďplaying with fireĒ so we feel the need to say a quick word of caution. We have, at various times, burned our fingers and accidentally set fire to stationery and envelopes and tablecloths. Take care. Watch out for body parts, especially fingers, hair, and noses. Donít let children do this unless supervised by a responsible adult. The wax is still very hot for several seconds after you pull away the seal, so donít touch the new seal impression right away, let it cool. Melt your wax in a well-ventilated area thatís free of extraneous paper or other easily flammable things.

How To Wear Adjustable Metal Bracelets  by  WiccanWay.com
Adjustable bracelets are not meant to be repeatedly "opened and closed", or "loosened and tightened".

The normal procedure is to set the bracelet so that it fits loosely around your wrist (but doesn't fall off) and so you can easily remove the bracelet by turning your wrist sideways and sliding it through the opening of the bracelet (the area where the two ends DO NOT meet). The bracelet should not be adjusted so tightly so that the ends of the bracelet touch or do not allow you to slide your wrist through to remove it. Once you've got your bracelet properly adjusted to your wrist, there shouldn't be any need for additional repeated adjustments.

Numerous adjustments of the bracelet will cause stress fractures in the metal and will cause the metal to crack. Once the metal cracks, there's not much you can do to fix the bracelet, and it's possible it will eventually snap in half. This is not a defect in the structure of the bracelet, it is caused by the stress of multiple "openings" and "closings" which aren't normally necessary with this style of bracelet.

So remember, just set it and forget it. Slide your wrist in through the opening, admire how lovely it looks on you, and then when you're done, slide your wrist out of the same opening. Hopefully this additional information will allow you to enjoy your bracelet for a long time, without any breakage in the metal.

How To Wear Adjustable Metal Rings  by  WiccanWay.com
Adjustable rings are not meant to be repeatedly "opened and closed", or "loosened and tightened".

The normal procedure is to set the ring so that it fits normally around your finger (but doesn't fall off) and so you can easily remove the ring by sliding it off your finger without re-adjusting the size. The ring should not be adjusted so tightly so that you are unable to remove the ring from your finger. Once you've got your ring properly adjusted to your finger, there shouldn't be any need for additional repeated adjustments.

Numerous adjustments of the ring will cause stress fractures in the metal and will cause the metal to crack. Once the metal cracks, there's not much you can do to fix the ring, and it's possible it will eventually snap in half. This is not a defect in the structure of the ring, it is caused by the stress of multiple "openings" and "closings" which aren't normally necessary with this style of ring.

So remember, just set it and forget it. Slide the ring on your finger, admire how lovely it looks on you, and then when you're done, slide the ring back off your finger. Hopefully this additional information will allow you to enjoy your ring for a long time, without any breakage in the metal.

What Are The Different Candle Colors Used For?  by  WiccanWay.com
Different candle colors correspond to different meanings and intentions in your spell work. Here's a basic list of candle color correspondences that you can use to help you determine what color candle you will need for your purpose or intent:
